Course Set - HLTAID009 & RIIERR205D (CPR & Apply initial response First Aid)
This course combines the nationally recognised units HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation and RIIERR205D Apply initial response first aid. It provides participants with the skills and knowledge to respond effectively to workplace emergencies, perform CPR in accordance with Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Guidelines, and provide an initial first aid response until professional medical assistance arrives.
Designed for individuals working in coal and metalliferous mining, the course develops the practical skills required to assess emergency situations, identify and manage hazards, monitor a casualty's condition, perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator (AED), and communicate effectively with emergency services and workplace personnel. Participants will also learn how to document and report workplace incidents in accordance with organisational procedures.
The program combines practical, hands-on training with theoretical knowledge to prepare participants to respond confidently and effectively in a range of workplace emergency situations.
Please note: this course is not a substitute for HLTAID011 – Provide First Aid as outlined in the First Aid in the Workplace Code of Practice. For workplace designated First Aiders, HLTAID011 is the required qualification and should be renewed every three (3) years.
This unit of competency stands alone and incorporates the content of the following units:
- HLTAID009 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- RIIERR205D Apply initial response first aid
