Asbestos Awareness Training

Non-accredited training

This non-accredited asbestos awareness course is designed for workers, supervisors, and others who may come across asbestos or asbestos-containing materials during their work, or who are responsible for overseeing work in areas where asbestos may be present. This includes individuals undertaking activities such as construction, demolition, renovation, repair, maintenance, cleaning, inspection, installation, or emergency response work in buildings, structures, plant, equipment, or service areas where asbestos-containing materials may be present.

It supports workplaces in meeting their obligation to provide information, instruction, and training on asbestos risks and safe work procedures. The course provides a practical overview of what asbestos is, where it may be found, how exposure can occur, including both direct and secondary exposure, and what workers should do if asbestos is suspected or identified. This helps participants recognise potential asbestos risks, follow workplace procedures, report concerns, and make safe decisions that prevent asbestos fibres from being released or inhaled.

This course does not authorise participants to remove asbestos, conduct asbestos sampling, or carry out licensed asbestos removal work.
