HLTHPS006 is about assistance — supporting a person to take their own medication as set out in care plans and a health professional’s instructions. You check, prepare, prompt and record. You stay within your own ability and follow documented procedures.

The 7 Rights: your core safety check
Before, during and after you assist clients with medication, confirm:
Right client — ID matches the care plan and MAR
Right medication — correct name and strength; beware look-alike names
