Practical Manual Handling

Non-accredited training

The Practical Manual Handling course is a focused, two-hour training session designed specifically for disability support workers and aged care workers. This course emphasizes the importance of safe and effective manual handling techniques to prevent injuries and promote a healthy work environment. Participants will learn the fundamental principles of manual handling, including proper body mechanics, posture, and movement strategies. Through a combination of theoretical instruction and hands-on practice, the course aims to enhance participants' skills and confidence in performing manual handling tasks safely.

In addition to basic techniques, the course will provide specialised training on the use of manual handling aids available in the participants' workplaces. This includes equipment such as hoists, transfer boards, and slide sheets, ensuring that workers are proficient in utilising these tools to support their daily tasks. By the end of this course, participants will be well-equipped with practical skills and knowledge to minimise the risk of injury to themselves and those they care for, fostering a safer and more efficient work environment in disability and aged care settings.
