This non-accredited Marine Advanced Responder course will cover the following topics:

  • Wound care (cuts, lacerations, foreign bodies) Assessment, cleaning, closure techniques (glue, steri-strips, skin staples) Infection prevention, wound dressing.
  • Sprain, strains, fractures, injury assessment, strapping, oral analgesia.
  • Intramuscular injections and offshore medical kit drug preparation.
  • Advanced assessment and consultation 
  • patient history taking and communicating with an onshore doctor (telemedicine)
  • Tabletop exercise and hands-on scenarios of case studies and offshore medical events.
  • Extrication skills - moving mobile, semi, mobile, immobile patients around a vessel.
