Excavator Verification of Competency
Non-accredited trainingThis Verification Of Competency (VOC) tests the skills and knowledge required to operate excavator operations to lift carry and place materials. (Western Australia Only)
The VOC applies to those working in site based roles.
The VOC is essential if you are conducting the operation of an excavator mobile plant. The VOC covers the operational procedures of the equipment, not including any RTO units which may be required.
It specifies the mandatory requirements of plan and prepare for excavator operations, operate in line with established requirement's, lift, carry and place materials to complete work activity, select, remove, fit and use attachments for a excavator, barricading prior to the use of an excavator, work safe practices and prepare to relocate and conduct housekeeping activities.
It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing work.
Completing the verification of competency will confirm an individual's skills and knowledge to carry out and complete the use of an excavator and ensure procedures and to perform safe work practices. It consists of real-life practical skills and knowledge to allow the participant to be assessed as competent in demonstrating the ability to perate equipment and/or undertake Excavator operator role.
